Return to Green Gala Auction

Green Gala Event FAQs

When is the Auction?

Saturday, March 17, 2018, 6pm-11pm, at the Woodmark Hotel, Downtown Kirkland

Do we have to go to the Auction?

Attendance of the auction is not mandatory but you will miss out on some amazing deals, great food and a great time. The goal of the auction is to raise much needed funds for our new school, including playground equipment, books for the library, and other necessary improvements.

At the Auction, do I have to buy anything?

We’ve curated a variety of items at all price levels in the hope that there is something for everyone. That said, purchasing items at the auction is not mandatory. In addition to the silent auction items, there will be an opportunity to make a cash donation or participate in our “Fling the Ring!” wine toss and take home a mystery bottle of wine for just $15.

How can I be involved in the Auction if I am not attending?

We have plenty of opportunities to be a part of the auction. If you are unable to attend, you may consider supporting the PTSA in the following ways:

  • Donate a bottle of wine for our “Fling the Ring” wine toss
  • Donate a dessert to be served on the night
  • Make a cash donation
  • Become a Green Gala Sponsor
  • Procure an auction item
  • Spread the word to your friends!!

How much is a ticket for the Auction?

Tickets are $65 per person and include entry to the event, complimentary champagne upon arrival, our complimentary signature cocktail courtesy of San Juan Island Distillery, and one hosted beverage, as well as heavy appetizers and bite size desserts.

What does the ticket price go towards?

The price of the ticket helps to offset the costs of putting on the auction (most notably the venue, food and beverages, and entertainment).

Will there be seating at the Auction?

This is not a seated dinner, but we will have a delicious selection of passed hors d’oeuvres and a buffet with heavy appetizers that you can enjoy at cocktails tables and chairs throughout the space.

What should I wear?

The invitation says cocktail attire, so feel free to bust out your favorite LBD or other fun cocktail dress! No, it does not have to be green!

What time should we arrive?

The doors open at 6:00PM. Be sure to arrive on time to get a first look at the amazing auction items we’ve curated! The auction tables will close at 8:15pm and 8:30 pm!

Will I have to pay for parking?

Parking in the garage is free after 7 pm, so as long as you stay and enjoy the party until at least 7 pm, you will not be charged. Valet is also available for $15 per car.

What is the bar situation?

We will have two cash bars for your convenience. Remember, your ticket includes complimentary champagne upon arrival, our complimentary signature cocktail curtesy of San Juan Island Distillery, and one hosted beverage. The bar will accept cash and cards for additional beverages.

How does the Silent Auction work?

Donated items will be displayed on the tables in the hallway beyond the library. In front of each item will be a bidding sheet listing the approximate retail value of the them, the minimum starting bid, and the acceptable bidding increments (e.g., increases of $15, $30). If you wish to bid on an item, print your bid number and the amount of your bid. The next bidder must offer a higher amount, increasing their bid by the posted acceptable increment amount. If you really want an item, be sure to check back before the bidding closes to make a final bid or enter your bid number for the “Guaranteed to Win” bid amount. When the bidding closes, the last person who placed a bid gets the item for the amount of their bid.

What is the “Fling the Ring Wine Toss?”

In the weeks leading up to the event, we will be collecting wine donations to fund our “Fling the Ring Wine Toss.” At the party, you will be able to purchase 1 toss for $15 or 3 tosses for $40 Players will toss their ring on to wrapped wine bottles and take home their mystery bottle!

How do I get my items that I win?

At 9 pm items will be available to close out by making payment and pick up at the registration table.  We suggest that items should be taken to your car and stored for safe keeping.

When is the party over?

All goods things must come to an end, and our evening will conclude at 11 pm. For those who wish to keep the party going, the Woodmark has offered a reduced room rate for our group. Please use promo code “SOCIAL” upon booking.

What are the options if we do not have a designated driver in our party?

We want everyone to have a safe ride home from the auction so be sure to download Uber or Lyft apps so that you are prepared to be driven to and from the Woodmark.
