Peter Kirk may be an old school, but there is a lot we can do to make it look better!…And it takes a village! The Grounds Beautification Committee was formed to make it clear that we care about our school and the way it looks.

Level One Green School
Peter Kirk has received its certification as a Level One Green School, because we want the grounds to not only be beautiful, but also safe and herbicide-free. Our PTSA has launched an “Adopt-A-Garden” program to divide and conquer the task of beautifying the landscaping at Peter Kirk. Volunteers who Adopt-a-Garden will maintain their allotted space throughout the school year. Participants are recognized for their efforts with a sign in their designated space, as well as the simple satisfaction of making their unique mark on our school campus.
Since it’s inception in 2010, the amazing efforts of Grounds Beautification volunteers have led to the creation of the Kinder-Garden natural play area, a sand digging garden, a butterfly garden, and the beautiful welcoming native gardens planted in all four of our unique interior courtyards. Truly spectacular…thank you Grounds Beautification Team!
By working in conjunction with our school principal, custodians, District grounds leads, parents, teachers, and community volunteers we can all help to make Peter Kirk look its best and keep us herbicide-free!
“Children and gardens are similar; each day there is new growth, if only we slow down to see.”
